Every year in August, Pilates Aligned hosts a weekend reunion for the Kathy Grant Heritage Training + MSMS (Movement Science Made Simple) graduates. They take one of the MSMS series and delve deeper into the topic. It was so cool to apply all that we learned from “Before The Hundred and Beyond” and apply it to the MSMS Anatomy of Breathing techniques we learned.
But what was even more amazing was the camaraderie of catching up with old and new friends.
It’s a whole new approach to thinking about the breath and applying it to Pilates movement. The weekend started out with an in depth class on the Kathy Grant strap work with Laura Karpinski and moved right into a great “Before the Hundred and Beyond” class with Cara Reeser. We then moved into an in depth look at the muscles and bony structures of the breathing mechanism. Our homework was reading the “Anatomy of Breathing” by Blandine Calais-Germain. Cara and Jeremy then took us even further into all things breathing. I now see the word or cue “scoop” in a whole new light. I can’t wait to play with it further and share it with my clients and colleagues at Mogo.
Below are photos from the weekend both working and playing!
